Angling:
Lough Allen is the first of the Shannon Lakes and one of the few unpolluted major lakes in the country. It is famous for it's huge pike, coarse angling and currently one of the richest trout lakes in Ireland.

County Leitrim is widely acknowledged as an anglers paradise and has hosted numerous national and international angling competitions. The many unpolluted lakes and rivers in County Leitrim support a huge population of wild fish. Coarse fish species include wild salmon (including Grilse), Sea Trout and Brown Trout.

Shannon-Erne Waterways:

The Shannon-Erne Waterway links the majestic expanse of Upper and Lower Lough Erne in Northern Ireland
creating Europe's longest navigable waterway. Nearest marina with facilties is located in Carrick-on-Shannon; Co.Leitrim. Cycling:
Kingfisher Cycle Trail:
Tourist Information Centre, Wellington Road, Enniskillen, County Fermanagh BT74 7EF. This is a mapped and signposted cycle route based in the County Leitrim and Fermanagh Lakelands. As the first long distance trail in Ireland the route of the Kingfisher Cycle Trail has been carefully designed to offer the cyclist the widest variety of scenery and countryside in any Irish trail. Golfing in the Region:

1. Ballinamore Golf Club:
The Shannon-Erne Waterway bounds the course on two fronts and adds to the difficulty of many holes. The course is newly designed and all greens are sand based.

2. Rosses Point Golf Club:
County Sligo Golf Club is one of Ireland's great Championship Links located on the Rosses Point peninsula, 6km from Sligo. Established in 1894, the original 9 hole course was laid out by George Combe, the founding secretary of the Golfing Union of Ireland. A decade later the course was extended to 18 holes by Captain Campbell.

Walking:
Miner's Way Walk and Historical Trail:

Arigna Miner's Way Walk and Historical Trail is a unique walking experience, extending over 118 Kilometers or 74 miles of North Roscommon, East Sligo and mid Leitrim. North Leitrim Glens Walking: There are several scenic walks throughout this idyllic region. The Swiss Valley Walk accessed via the old bog road close to Glencar Waterfall, the Glencar Waterfall Nature Trail which brings the sightseer up and around this majestic waterfall and the Glenfarne Wood Sculpture Trail are just some of the many walks in the region.

Sligo Way: The Sligo Way opened in 1998 and links to the Western Way at the Ox Mountains. The route is inland and visits the scenic woodlands and lakes of Co.Sligo. Lough Talt to Dromahair in Co. Leitrim 73 kilometres. Total ascent of 900 metres.

Suck Valley Way:
"The Suck Valley Way" is a 100km marked walk passing through the "Nine Friendly Villages" of the valley area.
The terrain is interesting, varied but never harsh on the walker. A large percentage of the walk is over private working farms and most of the remainder passes over woodland, bogs and wetlands.
